The Regional Relief and Recovery Fund (RRRF) has invested close to one million dollars in the Pontiac.
The federal initiative, which allows Ottawa to bypass the Quebec government with its investments, is providing the money through the SADC Pontiac Community Futures Development Corporation, with funding having been announced Wednesday September 2nd.
The funds, totalling $965,854 were quickly disbursed to 183 businesses, 81 of which (or 44 percent) are owned by women.
The RRRF was available to businesses that did not have access to other government measures in order to ensure assistance for everyone.
The assistance granted can take the form of working capital of up to $40,000 or a non-repayable financial contribution for technical assistance needs.
The RRRF has a total envelope of $211 million in Quebec.
