The Renfrew County Joint Transportation Consortium says students should expect some delays when school returns next week. The consortium says it became apparent that they would not have enough drivers to fill all routes. A bus driver shortage to start the school year means that 12 routes across Renfrew County are without drivers. To break it down, one route will be affected in Barry’s Bay, two in Deep River, two in Petawawa, two in Pembroke, and five in Arnprior. Parents can log onto the online portal at any point and time to find their child’s busing information. The current solution to combat the driver shortage may include doubling up on routes, meaning some pick-up and drop-off delays for students would apply. For more information, visit www.onthebus.ca
