The Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus (EOWC) was among the more than 1,000 participants from across Ontario during the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) Conference, which took place in a first-ever virtual format from August 17th to the 19th.
EOWC Chair Andy Letham and Vice-Chair Rick Phillips, along with otherc caucus members met with Provincial Ministers and the NDP Caucus to discuss key priorities like COVID-19 municipal recovery, COVID-19 economic recovery, long-term care, and the EORN Cell Gap Project and Broadband Gap Strategy.
EOWC Chair Andy Lethem appreciated the Province’s willingness to hear the regional perspectives, and believes it will take strong partnerships between governments to face the challenging years ahead.
AMO represents almost all of Ontario’s 444 municipal governments, so the forum was an ideal venue to express the Eastern Wardens’ concerns.
