Upper Ottawa Valley Hockey is urging patience with parents’ questions.
The governing body for the organization, Hockey Eastern Ontario, is working on Stage 3 of its Return to Hockey (RTH) Framework, and the document is expected to be released shortly.
Upper Ottawa Valley Hockey anticipates running hockey programs beginning in October in accordance with the RTH framework.
The season ahead will not be a typical one, and initial restrictions may need to be tightened or eased depending on where the virus takes us.
Across the Upper Ottawa Valley, registration will be opened at different times as determined by the local association.
The first few weeks players get on the ice will consist primarily of conditioning and skill development, and on-ice numbers will conform with what is permitted by local Public Health Authorities and the Municipal Recreation Facilities involved.
Aces, Rep B and house levels including Initiation Programs will be offered with players within each level assigned to ‘bubbles’ conforming to limits outlined by the Ontario Government.
Players within the bubbles may come from the same or different UOV associations and the size of the bubbles will be reevaluated every four weeks.
Your association reps will communicate to families as soon as they are able to.
With so many variables remaining, District 5 Chair Brydon Schaap knows some families may decide to opt out of participation this year, but appreciates your patience as all protocols are finalized.
Should you have any questions about the programs, please contact the President of your home association.
