Environment Canada has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the Ottawa Valley. Weather officials say conditions expected this afternoon are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail, and heavy rain. The main threats are strong damaging winds up to 100 km/h and torrential downpours. The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
