More people are going back to work in our area.
The numbers released from Stats Canada today (August 7th, 2020) show the unemployment numbers in the Kingston-Pembroke area are going down.
Last month (July 2020), 10% of the local workforce was unemployed, down from 11.8% the previous month (June 2020).
Compared to July of 2019 only 5.1% of the workforce in our area was unemployed.
As COVID-19 restrictions continue to ease up and more businesses are able to reopen another 4,300 jobs were added to the local economy from June to July.
