The Town of Renfrew is reminding residents that starting next week (August 4th) recycling material will need to be sorted and will only be picked up on certain weeks.
Renfrew Town Councillor and Chair of the Environmental Committee, Peter Emon, says co-mingled items (aluminum cans, plastic containers, glass bottles and jars, etc.) will be picked up the first week.
Emon says the second week fibre materials (newspaper, magazines, catalogues, paper rolls and larger cardboard containers) will be collected.
The Town of Renfrew will alternate between co-mingled and fibre products every week.
Collection days and garbage pick-up will not be impacted.
Emon says the town recently signed a three year contract with Topps Environmental Solutions who will be responsible for collection.
The town councillor says information about the changes are available on their website and has also been sent to individual households.
Emon is reminding residents that household hazardous waste collection ends on the 29th of August and leaf and yard waste collection will take place the weeks of November 2nd and 16th.
Our NEW Recycling Collection Program will begin NEXT week (Aug 3-7). First week of collection will begin with Co-mingled…
