Local police have received calls regarding unordered seeds that have been delivered to residents by mail from China.
The Renfrew OPP says if you receive an unsolicited shipment of foreign seeds in the mail to not open them and do not plant or dispose of the seeds.
The OPP say you should contact the Canada Food Inspection Agency at 613-773-8990 where a drop off or pick up can be arranged.
The Canada Food Inspection Agency says planting or disposing of the seeds could result in the introduction of an invasive species to the environment.
