She’s a mom, an animal lover, an advocate for just about anyone and the Community Development Coordinator for the Renfrew County branch of the Ontario SPCA.
Heather Jobe says the most rewarding part of the job is seeing the difference in some of the animals that come through the door. She says some are scared, vulnerable, not trusting and could be coming from awful situations. Jobe says there some pretty hard days, but seeing situations change for the better, or knowing you’re able to help in any way makes your heart feels full in good times and bad.
Jobe says the animals never give up so she doesn’t either. She adds what could be more inspiring than seeing families and people changed forever by a little creature.
Outside of working with the Renfrew County Animal Centre, Jobe likes spending time with family, going to the rink, camping with the boys, but she adds down time usually involves animals with a few pets at home.
The advice she would like to share is to follow your heart, do what makes you happy and everything will fall in line.
