The County of Renfrew and City of Pembroke are creating a senior’s housing strategy.
A consulting firm has been engaged to create the strategy which will help with decision making and policy development when it comes to housing options for seniors.
The review will examine assisted living options, supportive housing, long-term care and community paramedic partnerships.
The consulting team will reach out to a wide range of community stakeholders as part of the study and members of the community can also provide feedback by emailing the County of Renfrew. (seniorstrategy@countyofrenfrew.on.ca)
The County of Renfrew and the City of Pembroke operate two Long-Term Care homes. Almost 350 residents call Bonnechere Manor in Renfrew and Miramichi Lodge in Pembroke home.
Warden Debbie Robinson says they look forward to gathering information and working with, local municipalities, housing providers and many community stakeholders and agencies to bring forward a strategy that will give insight into this important issue.
