Environment Canada has issued a Heat Warning for most parts of the Ottawa Valley today. Weather officials say that temperatures today are forecast to be 30 to 33 degrees Celsius. Humidex values near 40 are also expected. However, a cold front will pass through southern Ontario from west to east tonight will snap the heatwave. Hot, humid weather could cause some health problems for some. The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, and people working or exercising outdoors. Check on older family, friends, and neighbours. Make sure they are cool and drinking water.
