UPDATE: Suspect in custody.
An early morning incident in Carleton Place has OPP actively searching for a suspect. Lanark County OPP say they were called to a motel on Highway 7 in Carleton Place about 4AM this morning (Wednesday), where a man was found suffering from serious injuries. Police and members of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch are actively searching for 30 year-old Shane Sabourin in connection with this possible assault. He is described as being white, 5’7″, tall, and weighing about 200 pounds. Sabourin has black hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black, long sleeved shirt and pants, and walking along Highway 7 near McNeely Avenue. The individual could be armed with a knife. Anyone seeing him should not approach him, but police are urging anyone with information to call 911 should you see him or know where he is.
