Local school boards are starting to plan for when students are able to return to class in September. Director of Education for the Renfrew County District School Board, Pino Buffone, says they are looking at a two day on, one day off approach. He says with classes not able to exceed 15 students they would take a regular class of 30 and divide it in half with Group A coming in on Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday used for online learning. He adds Group B would come to school on Thursday and Friday to keep students apart.
Buffone says they are still trying to work out many of the details, but hope to have a blend of online and in-class learning in the fall. The Director of Education for the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board, Jamie Perry, says they don’t want so many restrictions in place that students aren’t able to interact with each other.
Perry says they are working on a plan that makes sense for students in Renfrew County.
