The Renfrew County and District Health Unit is asking local health care workers to avoid traveling to COVID-19 hot spots. Dr. Robert Cushman, the acting medical officer of health for Renfrew County and district says health care workers should hold off travel plans to areas like Quebec and Southern Ontario until at least the end of June. In a memo, he says while many areas of Ontario are moving to Stage 2 of resumption of business and the health sector works to addressing serious backlogs, we must remain vigilant. He added hopefully these parts of Ontario will soon move into Stage 2, but in the meantime, it is best to check with local health units or with the Renfrew County and District Health Unit before considering travel to these areas.
