The OPP has charged three individuals from Petawawa after executing a warrant for an illegal online cannabis service. Officers seized marijuana, shatter, cannabis resin, psilocybin and cannabis edibles. Also seized was a large quantity of money. Police estimate the total value of seized cannabis and related illicit products was over $155,000. Also seized was approximately $75,000 worth of offence related property including two vehicles.
On Thursday (June 4th), members of the Provincial Joint Force Cannabis Enforcement Team (PJFCET) assisted by members of the OPP Biker Enforcement Unit (BEU), OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), OPP Regional Support Team, OPP Community Street Crime Unit and Canadian Forces National Investigative Services Drug Enforcement Team executed a search warrant at an online delivery service known as HerbertHaze (previously known as Potawawa420 up until May 31, 2020) located in Pembroke and Petawawa.
As a result of the investigation,
Matthew THOMPSON, age 42 of Petawawa, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
- Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling;
- Possessing cannabis for the purpose of distribution;
- Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking; and with
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime.
Scott DOOLEY, age 49 of Petawawa, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
- Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling;
- Possessing cannabis for the purpose of distribution; and with
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime.
Nicole TRAVERS, age 35 of Petawawa, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
- Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling;
- Possessing cannabis for the purpose of distribution; and with
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime.
The accused were released on an undertaking and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on July 28, 2020.
