The acting Medical Officer of Health for the Renfrew County and District Health Unit hopes they can lift the COVID-19 outbreak status at Riverview Heights retirement home in Pembroke soon. Doctor Robert Cushman provided an update to the County of Renfrew council this morning (May 27th) and says the outbreak is still under review.
Cushman adds they’ve received two more tests that have come back negative and none of the resident contacts have tested positive for the virus. Cushman says the false positive test at Bonnechere Manor in Renfrew was the result of a clerical error at the lab. The Medical Officer of Health for the RCDHU says we have a greater chance of false positive test results since COVID-19 isn’t as prevalent in Renfrew County and District.
