McNab-Braeside Council supports the concept of a staged reopening for specific areas of Ontario not overly impacted by COVID-19.
A resolution from the City of Pembroke to that effect was considered by Township Council Tuesday.
Mayor Tom Peckett says although the resolution has been outstripped by events, he thinks the concept is sound.
While Peckett acknowledges that Eastern Renfrew County has higher numbers than elsewhere in the region, that’s logical in that a lot of folks travel to their jobs.
The Province has taken the position that staggered reopenings would risk spreading COVID to what have, until now, been low-risk reporting areas.
