Many Renfrew residents and others across the Valley are sad to see one of its landmarks is closed. Tracey’s Dairy has closed its doors after almost 40 years serving the valley. They were closed during the long weekend and we are learning the business is going bankrupt after many contributors including the global pandemic being the last straw. That means even the manufacturing of their famous old fashion style ice cream will no longer be made. Their iconic flavors were sold in parlors and stores across the region in Ontario and Quebec. They not only sold ice cream cones, but frozen yogurt and “No Sugar” added ice cream among other things. Often in the summer months the ice cream bar would be lined out the door with families enjoying the treats passing on the love for Tracey’s Ice Cream from generation to generation.
