Last night the Whitewater Fire Department responded to a brush fire off Bromley Line. The fire was caused by a child playing with matches. Luckily no one was hurt but someone did lose a tractor that was in a small shed. The fire grew to be fairly large; firefighters were on the scene for a couple of hours putting out the blaze. Fire Chief Guy Longtin reminds parents to store matches and lighters up high and away so kids can’t get access to them. He also reminds children that it’s never a good idea to play with matches.
