The COVID-19 lockdown has highlighted how Internet access in the Valley differs from what’s available in urban areas.
Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke Member of Parliament Cheryl Gallant is spearheading a survey her party is doing to collect data on those disparities nationwide.
Gallant observes that areas of her constituency that have dial-up are getting 1/1000th of what the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission says we are entitled to.
With the advent of 5G in urban areas, that disparity is becoming worse.
The MP says the Conservative Party wants to hear your internet horror stories so the data can be compiled to pressure the government to act.
