myFM news caught up with Mel Blimkie from the BIA about how downtown merchants are preparing to reopen.
Blinkie continues by saying the only concern is people from other markets that saw higher counts of the virus coming in but he is hopeful with all the precautions retailers are taking they can do their part to stop the spread. Small businesses all over are feeling the effects from the pandemic and Renfrew recently saw major construction on our main street which had its toll on merchants as well. Blimkie says it’s important to reopen because sales now affect how businesses can purchase items to sell for Christmas which a huge deal for them. If you are feeling uncomfortable going shopping Blinkie explains there are other ways to shop locally.
