Local fire departments are letting residents know the MNRF has removed the Restricted Fire Zone for our area.
The Bonnechere Valley Fire Department says as of midnight tonight (May 15th) we will go to a level 1 Fire Ban meaning campfires are allowed, but permits for burning brush will not be available.
The Fire Chief for Horton Township is reminding residents to follow the open air burning by-law.
The MNRF says the current restricted fire zone which applies to all zones in the fire region of Ontario, will be lifted effective Saturday, May 16 at 12:01 am. Get more information online here.
