She may have spoken her truth as she saw it, but her judicial colleagues were none to happy to see her remarks in print.
Justice-of-the-Peace Julie Lauzon has been found guilty of judicial misconduct by a Hearing Panel looking into her case.
The panel has confirmed that an article she wrote for the National Post back in 2016 may have maligned the integrity of the Crown and other members of the judiciary, and her remarks offered no consideration for their personal reputations.
While she had made similar comments in open court the panel did not rule on that matter.
Submissions on what to do about it are scheduled to begin on July 16th, 2020 at 10:00AM at a location to be determined.
Outcomes could be a warning, a reprimand, an ordered apology, taking remedial training, suspension with or without pay or removal from her office.
