Ontario Premier Doug Ford is asking cottagers to hold off on traveling until it’s safe to do so.
The Office of the Premier issued a release saying Ford held a conference call with Ontario’s cottage country mayors yesterday (May 6th) and the discussions were very productive.
Ford says with the Victoria Day long weekend and cottage season just around the corner we need to stay vigilant as we continue to battle this terrible virus. The Premier is asking seasonal residents travelling to their cottages to practice the same public health measures as usual including no gatherings, avoiding non-essential travel and practicing physical distancing.
Ford says they are asking visitors to help fight the spread of COVID-19 and hold off travelling to these regions until it’s safe to do so.
