Testing for COVID-19 across Renfrew County and District has dropped over the past 24-hours. The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) says 37 new people have been swabbed, down from the 97 tests completed the day before.
The health unit says there’s 16 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Renfrew County and District, including 12 resolved and one death. That means the RCDHU is aware of three active COVID-19 cases in our area.
Under the Health Protection and Promotion Act and the Personal Health Information Protection Act, the Renfrew County and District Health Unit is unable to disclose personal information regarding COVID-19 cases due to confidentiality.
The RCDHU says some health units have disclosed more details due to their larger population sizes. With a much smaller population the health unit says that makes it easier to identify patients and breach confidentiality.
Residents are asked to be patient and trust the protocols and guidelines put in place.
