A self-described people-person, Dana is the owner of Valley Thrift, a new business in the downtown core that collects donations and re-sells to the community. Dana was born and raised in Renfrew, attended school here, including Queen Elizabeth School, Central Public School and RCI. Dana has lived his entire life in Renfrew and wanted to raise his family here. Dana juggles business and family, heʼs the father of four girls, ages range from 13 to 21, two of which attend post secondary schools. Valley Thrift became a reality after the closure of the Salvation Army store last year.
Dana was asked to help clear out the old store and when he realized the Salvation Army would not be relocating, he knew there was a need to fill. Dana worked closely with the Salvation Army to make the store a reality and a portion of the sales will support the Renfrew Victoria Hospital. Heʼs eager for COVID-19 to pass so he can officially open his doors to the public and raise some money for local health initiatives.
