Christina owns The Flower Factory in downtown Renfrew. She was born in Renfrew, and grew up in Horton. She attended school in town and worked at Briscoeʼs Grocery store, now known as Metro. Sheʼs a single Mom with three kids, she has one son and two daughters, and she says teaching them to have a sense of community and to volunteer is important. Christina studied in Ottawa and worked in the city for many years.
When she decided to return back to Renfrew to raise her kids, she took a leap of faith and opened her own shop. The Flower Factory has moved three times and is now home in the old Donahue Art store on Raglan Street. Christina is former co-chair of the BIA and a dedicated advocate to the downtown core. She was one of the organizers of the Festival of Family back in 2012, and most recently fundraised for the Bernadette McCann House as well as the Renfrew Food Bank. Her daffodil sales this spring raised over 1800 dollars for the local organization.
