
The Town of Deep River is considering opening the municipal boat launch. Interim CAO and Director of Public Works, Sean Patterson, told council on Wednesday night (April 22nd) that municipalities are able to open boat launches that aren’t attached to a marina.
The boat launch in Deep River is currently not open, but Patterson says if they do open it they will have appropriate COVID-19 signage. You can watch the Town of Deep River council meeting online here.
Provincial emergency orders still prohibit gatherings of more than five people and physical distancing must be maintained.
Mississippi Mills is also keeping municipal boat launches open to the public. Residents wishing to launch a boat are reminded of high spring levels and fast moving water.
The following public boat launches in Mississippi Mills are open:
- Appleton Bay Park
- Metcalfe Geo Heritage Park
- Riverfront Estates (park by the water)
- 5 Span Park (Pakenham)
