The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) is reporting another 87 tests for COVID-19 have been completed over the past 24-hours. The new numbers released this afternoon (April 23rd) show no new cases reported in our area again. The RCDHU confirmed 61 more negative tests and another 26 individuals are still waiting for results. The number of COVID-19 cases across Renfrew County and District remains at 14 including six resolved and one death with a total of 129 test results still pending.
Ontario is reporting 634 new cases of COVID-19 and 54 deaths today. That brings the provincial total to 12,879 cases and 713 deaths.
Meanwhile, the province has extended a number of pandemic emergency orders today which had been set to expire. The orders mean the closure of parks and recreational areas, non-essential workplaces and restaurants will continue until May 6th.
