New modeling released from the province today (April 20th) shows that measures are working to contain the spread of COVID-19 and help flatten the curve.
The Chief Medical Officer of Health says emergency measures must remain in place to continue reducing the number of cases and deaths.
The province says the wave of new community spread cases of COVID-19 has peaked, however outbreaks at long-term care facilities and congregate settings continue to be a major concern. The modeling shows that Ontario is trending towards a best case scenario, with total cases expected to be substantially lower than previous projections.
Residents still need to stay home unless absolutely necessary and if you go to get groceries, to access health care services or pick up prescriptions go alone and stay at least two meters away from others.
