The Warden for the County of Renfrew has provided an update on the COVID-19 situation. Warden Debbie Robinson says paramedics are working around the clock to support the health care system and are putting themselves at risk everyday by screening and testing local residents.
Robinson says two weeks ago a staff member at Miramichi Lodge tested positive for COVID-19 and after self-isolating has since recovered. The warden adds there has not been any additional cases and if things change they will share whatever information they can.
Robinson adds the social service department is helping people apply for assistance and the economic development office is working with businesses and the tourism sector through these challenging times.
The Warden for the County of Renfrew says the preventative measure we’ve put in place are working and we need to continue to practice physical distancing, stay home as much as possible and wash our hands frequently.
