There’s a new task force in town, an economic task force. The new initiative for the County of Renfrew is a guide for response and recovery as well as to ‘ensure the future sustainability’ of the County’s business, agriculture, tourism, commercial and manufacturing sectors during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Task Force will engage business, community and political leaders to assess the financial impact the virus is having on our communities. Warden Debbie Robinson says the health and safety of residents and staff is their first priority as the COVID-19 crisis deepens, she adds they must now direct their efforts to addressing the economic impact. The task force will focus on three key areas, stabilization, rebuilding and growth while developing strategies and action plans. Representatives from key sectors in the county will be invited to participate in this new task force. In the meantime, the county continues to provide resources and information online, and local businesses are encouraged to take the business impact survey, also found on the link below.
