Not to be outdone by reports of Ontario Power Generation’s generosity in donating PPE supplies to the Province to help stave off the COVID-19 pandemic, Hydro-Quebec is touting its own philanthropy.
The Quebec utility has provided 125,000 face masks to the Québec government.
Hydro Quebec employees have donated 75 thousand dollars to the Red Cross COVID Relief program, while the parent company has provided a 300,000 donation to the Montreal United Way.
In addition, Hydro Quebec has accelerated payments to its suppliers.
To keep the economic wheels turning, payment terms are being reduced to fifteen days from the current thirty.
2020 raises for managers at Hydro-Quebec are cancelled, and performance bonuses frozen until the third quarter to help the Province through the current financial crunch the pandemic has caused.
Quebec continues to lead the nation in the number of COVID-19 cases reported.
