CNL is pressing its 3D printers into service.
Although the nuclear research facility is on hiatus due to the COVID-19 crisis, a number of staff with additive manufacturing expertise are now working from home, and CNL’s 3D printers are off-site with them.
While they are not being needed for nuclear tooling solutions, staff expertise and the 3D hardware have been put to work making face shields for the health care community.
The printing team is connected with CNL’s Taskforces, and with Health Canada to determine the best distribution strategy for the product.
CNL’s production capabilities have now been added to their list of potential resources as the demand increases.
