O’Kenny Craft Spirits in Pembroke is doing their part to help residents and businesses in our community by producing hand-sanitizer during the COVID-19 pandemic. The owner of the local distillery, Andrew Kenny, says they only have a limited supply available right now and they’re trying to figure out where the priority areas are. Residents who can’t get any hand-sanitizer shouldn’t panic and the local health unit says everyone should be washing their hands often and practicing social distancing. Kenny says they’ve had pharmacies across the Ottawa Valley reaching out and asking for additional hand-sanitizer.
Kenny says they aren’t making any money from the sale of hand-sanitizer and he encourages residents to check out their other merchandise and spirits selection online. He adds other local businesses have stepped up by helping provide discounted containers for the hand-sanitizer and aloe to use for free. The owner of O’Kenny Craft Spirits says they will be looking into measures announced by the province to help businesses supply emergency products to support the COVID-19 response.
