The province of Ontario has announced new measures to support parents and students. This afternoon Premier Doug Ford says they will launch an online education portal with resources and supports for at home learning. Ford says they will have English and French programs for students in kindergarten to Grade 12.
Ford says today they are launching the first phase of the learn at home program. He says the online education portal is one more way of giving parents peace of mind during the COVID-19 pandemic. Education Minister Stephen Lecce says even though schools have been closed, nobody will have their graduation compromised due to COVID-19.
Lecce says they are working to prevent learning loss and if schools need to remain closed beyond April 5th the province plans to launch another phase of the learn at home program.
