Ontario is officially in a state of emergency. Premier Doug Ford announced this morning this is not a provincial shut down, but proactive steps to prevent the spread of COVID 19. Essential businesses and services, such as grocery stores, convenience stores as well as public transit will continue, but the province has placed a prohibition on gatherings of more than 50 people. In addition, all restaurants, bars, churches, schools, day care centres, and theatres, including cinemas, have been ordered to close until March 31. There’s exception for eateries that provide pick up or take out options for customers. Ford added no expense will be spared to support Ontarians in need.
