Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says as much as possible stay home, work from home if you can, don’t go out unless you have to, let the kids run around in the house and things will get better.
The Prime Minister says we need reduce the burden on the health care sector in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic. Trudeau recognized frontline health workers including doctors, nurses, administrative, and maintenance staff for their efforts to protect Canadians.
Earlier today Ontario announced a state of emergency closing sit-in restaurants, bars, banning events over 50 and shutting down all libraries and recreation facilities in the province. The federal government did not issue a state of emergency. Trudeau says order take out instead of going out for dinner and support your neighbours and friends in need. He adds Parks Canada will suspend all visitor access and essentially anything with a door will be closed.
The Prime Minister says they are investing more money to support the economy and businesses with more measures to be announced later this week. Tomorrow the federal government is expected to announce changes regarding the tax season allowing more flexibility for payments.
