We’re in a state of emergency. The announcement was made this morning by Premier Doug Ford, in an effort to contain the spread of COVID 19. Renfrew Reeve Peter Emon believes the declaration is warranted.
As a part of the state of emergency, gatherings over 50 people are prohibited, restaurants, bars, churches, daycares, theatres and schools will be closed until March 31. Restaurants are permitted to remain open for delivery and take out only, all in-house dining is not allowed. Emon believes this will have a long term effect on our rural community and it will take time for businesses and individuals to recover.
However, he’s confident the Premier will follow through on his promise of ‘no expense spared to support Ontarians’.
