Long-Term-Care homes in the County of Renfrew are taking preventative measures to protect local seniors.
Staff at Bonnechere Manor in Renfrew and Miramichi Lodge in Pembroke have been told effective immediately they will start screening all visitors, resident admissions, re-admissions and returning residents. If you are experiencing shortness of breath, a cough or fever you will not be allowed to enter the buildings. All staff, students and volunteers are directed to self-screen for COVID-19 at home. If you are experiencing symptoms you are advised to call from home to let someone know you’re unable to fill the shift. Both long-term-care homes say the safety of residents remains the primary objective and your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
In addition to the extra screening measures at Bonnechere Manor and Miramichi Lodge, the 2020 volunteer banquet has been postponed. Director of Long-Term-Care, Shelly Sheedy, says it’s with great regret but an abundance of caution that they decided to postpone the event.
