The Town of Renfrew has its budget- and the end product of number crunching that began back in December comes in at a 1.4 percent increase to the local ratepayer- but the blended rate, including County and Education taxes is only going up 0.5 percent.
Renfrew Mayor Don Eady says he is proud of the document and proud of the people who dedicated their time to prepare it.
Treasurer Keray O’Reilly says these are the best numbers he’s seen in thirteen years with the Town.
O’Reilly says Renfrew uses the 100 thousand dollar yardstick in calculating the squeeze on your pocketbook- because the formula provides an apples to apples comparison with towns and townships next door.
Renfrew’s blended tax increase is $8.08 per 100 thousand in assessment- or 75 cents a month.
The 2020 Budget was passed by Town Council Tuesday.
