Environment Canada’s extreme cold warning remains in place this morning as wind chill values are expected to peak around -37 this morning and -19 this afternoon, bringing with them a risk of frostbite. As a result, the Renfrew County Joint Transportation Consortium has cancelled all school bus transportation for public and Catholic schools today. However the schools are still open for staff and students. At this point, all french school bus transportation is still up and running. If you must be outside today, ensure your skin is completely covered, frost bite can happen in a matter of minutes and for those working outside, take scheduled breaks to warm up.
