The City of Pembroke has been ranked 16th on the list of most romantic cities in Canada. The annual list put together by Amazon Canada looks at the sale of romance novels (print and online), romantic comedies, relationship books, jewellery and sexual wellness products in determining which cities are most romantic. Economic Development and Tourism Officer with the City of Pembroke, Heather Sutherland, says romance is alive and well in the Upper Ottawa Valley.
Sutherland says with Valentine’s Day falling on a Friday, you can enjoy live entertainment around the city, public skating, watch a move, enjoy the many restaurants, have a nice walk along the Ottawa River or relax at one of the spa services available. Fort McMurray was the most romantic place in Canada in 2020, Toronto came 2nd, Ottawa was 6th, Pembroke 16th and Kingston was 19th.
