Calabogie is celebrating all things winter with this weekend’s carnival. Initially, this was a municipally run event, however the Lions Club is running this year’s Calabogie Winter Carnival. There’s plenty of family fun to be had and Kim Rekowski says you don’t even have to work on breakfast, there’s a hot meal Saturday morning.
Breakfast runs from 9am until 11am. There are also free sleigh rides, a euchre tournament, hockey game and a variety of games for the entire family to enjoy. There’s also a spaghetti dinner at 5pm. Rekowski says it’s important to get out and do something fun.
Things kick off tonight (Friday) with a trivia night, and Rekowski says there is still lots of room for more teams. The carnival winds down on Sunday with a ski day at the Calabogie Peaks. Details on events and times can be found on the Lions Club’s Facebook page. Activities take place at the community centre in Calabogie.
