Eight-year-old Tess MacDonald of Arnprior is hoping to put an end to the use of single-use plastic bags in town.
With help from her mother Jennifer Armstrong, Tess has launched an online petition and hopes to gather one-thousand signatures.
Once she reaches that, she hopes to take the issue to Mayor Walter Stack.
Tess and her mom designed the petition to fight against harmful plastic waste that could negatively affect the environment.
Our news team hit the streets to ask local residents if they too think that plastic bags should be banned.
