22 year-old Zachary Wittke has been found guilty of first degree murder. The jury in the case regarding the death of Sheila Welsh of Arnprior began deliberating on the case Tuesday afternoon (Jan. 21st), and arrived at its verdict just after 3PM this afternoon. The first-degree conviction conforms with what was requested by Crown Attorney Robin Flumerfelt. The defence had argued for a manslaughter conviction. Sentencing will occur at a later date.
