Arnprior Town Council has received the draft 2020 Municipal Budget.
Treasurer Jennifer Morawiec says administration found itself already behind the eight ball when it began its calculations.
Staff is recommending a 1.58 percent increase in the Town’s budget for the coming year.
The document also grows reserves in an effort to improve the municipality’s long-term fiscal health, accounting for the additional one percent.
The forthcoming budget allows for the reconstruction of Alicia Street, at a cost of $865 000 and some patch and repair road work.
Morawiec says the proposed increase is below the 1.9 percent increase in the cost of living and translates to an increase of $6.02 per month for a home assessed at median-average market value.
