Hooray for Coaches Day is presented by Mickey’s Sports and Promotions. We are profiling Ken Dick.
He jokes he was ‘dragged’ into coaching after his son and daughter began the sport, but truth be told, Ken Dick loves bowling and loves working with the kids. He’s been bowling for over 50 years and he’s spent 45 of those years teaching youth the skills of the game. Involved with the Opeongo Bowlodrome in Renfrew, Ken has worked with all ages and shared many stories off the record about away trips for tournaments, many involving his son Andrew Dick – a fellow myFMer – but he takes special pride in time he spent working with special needs students from Queen Elizabeth school. He’s still coaching and he intends to do so for as long they’ll keep him around.
