The County of Renfrew is considering banning all parking along Baskin Drive (County Road 10) near the McDonalds in Arnprior. At the county Operations Committee meeting last week, the public works and engineering department received a request to create a “no parking” zone in that area.
Since the County of Renfrew doesn’t have a by-law officer to enforce the parking restrictions, staff are recommending that local municipalities be authorized to collect and retain fines along county roads.
While reviewing regulations for parking along county roads, staff noticed the Town of Arnprior has several parking restrictions along County roads identified in their by-law, however some are not included. County staff are also recommending that instead of having multiple parking by-laws, they all be repealed to have one general by-law with specific locations of where parking is restricted.
