Renfrew County Catholic schools will close their doors next Tuesday, due to a one day strike by members of the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association. A notice from the board this afternoon says unless an agreement is reached prior to the 21st, all classes will be cancelled and schools will be closed on that date. Board officials say they hope that a provincial settlement will be reached shortly. They say they regret any disruption to student learning or inconvenience to families that results from the job action but they respect that sanctions are a legal part of the collective bargaining process.
